Thousands of plugins exist, making VST the most widespread audio plugin architecture. If you get audio feedback, lower the volume or use headphones with a microphone. The iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook, and MacBook Pro had moved to an Intel-based architecture starting in January 2006, leaving the Power Mac G5 as the only machine in.Ableton Live 11 is out, talk about it here.VST plug-ins are software modules that can take the form of real-time instruments or effects. To monitor that audio during recording, adjust the volume slider. All post asking a question must end with a question mark. But so far, mostly people are saying on the internet who have tested both back to back the Mac Pro takes quite a bit more CPU load than the Mac Mini, but since they compared it with the 10 or 12 core versions, the stress tests they were using just relied a little bit more on the multicore aspect. And I suppose for that you need better single core performance, which on paper (benchmarks), the mac mini does have. And I’m not really using a bunch of tracks, as I freeze & bounce, but on my buses and master channel I accumulate quite a few plugins. I produce, mix & master in the same project in ableton, and my MBP 15” 2015 2.2 ghz just isn’t cutting it anymore. I know my way around audio systems.Sometimes I don't need 16 mic inputs, Line/Digital/outboard/you name it.Sometimes I just need to write a quick musical sketch, edit a short audio file etc. With Ableton and my Mac and nothing else, this is possible, easy, and quick. With Ableton and my PC and nothing else, this is possible, frustrating and ultimately not usable due to latency and crackling.I don't want to have to transfer a PCIe card just because that one file should have had a high pass filter on it.Which plugins do you use for mixing? Do you master with ozone as well in the same project? How many of CPU heavy plugins do you use on one channel?Gosh, I have such a specific workflow, and I just can’t decide whether to go with Mac Pro 6,1 8 core or Mac Mini 2018. With proprietary device drivers this might not be an issue, but again, on the Mac proprietary drivers aren't necessary to plug in a USB interface and get usable latency.Haha, I should maybe have been more specific, the interface in question was the Sound Devices Mix Pre-D, definitely more than $100, but no ASIO drivers, they didn't start releasing proprietary drivers until the next series or the one after that.I run a Pro Tools HD rig, PCIe interface, and I've been a tech for many systems, PC and Mac, I've worked with Avid, Presonus, Focusrite, Universal Audio, RME, Steinberg, NI, and probably dozens of other interface manufacturers.
